Dear Community,
Diwali Mela Celebration - available through November 22nd
By now there has been more than 550 visitors to the PCA Diwali Mela.
You still have time to celebrate Diwali Mela at AISC. As you move around on the virtual map of our campus, you will find activities for everyone. There is storytelling, yoga, music, DIY, cooking classes, coloring pages and lots of performances.
And don't forget to visit the specially designed Diwali-themed photobooth!
This event is made possible because of all the contributions from students, families, outside community partners and AISC faculty and staff. The PCA is grateful of every single one.
A special thanks goes to the Advancement team, who have worked tireless to make this happen.
You have received a special welcome to enter the map in your inbox on November 12th, or you can use this link (best experienced on a Chrome web browser)
Tell us about your interests
The PCA is always looking for more ways to engage parents and thus bringing the community together.
We encourages you to fill out this form to share with us your preferences of recreational interests.
Please note this is only a survey to help the PCA focus on areas of interest to the community, not a list of currently scheduled events.
This survey should take no more than 5 minutes.
PCA Monthly meeting, November 9 - follow up
On Monday Ms. Bindu joined us to talk about the Diwali Festival, we learned about the traditions surrounding these celebrations, different customs and practices and we got a chance to understand some of the background as well.
A recording from the meeting is available here
And as promised Ms. Bindu has returned with more answers to your questions:
- Yes, Diwali is considered new year for some communities.
- Why is Rama represented in blue? Perhaps because of this: Sky appears blue. It's all pervasive. Ocean appears blue. It's also infinite. So Lord Krishna and Rama who represent the infinity are in blue color. Also blue represents the Cosmic Region.
At the end of the session Ms. Bindu is sharing a short meditation; she has been practicing Heartfulness meditation for close to 15 years and is happy to share this precious practice with anyone.
Here is the link to the website for more information.
If you are interested in learning more, you are welcome to contact Ms. Bindu at kbindu@aischennai.org
