From the desk of your team....

Dear Friends

As another week closes,  we are finding that the days pass more quickly and the events happen much more quickly than we expected.  As we look back, the HS play seemed a mere dot in the distance of the school time, and it is here. Tonight is the opening night of the HS play, Into the Woods.  A play, which is an interpretation of Little Red Riding Hood, the musical with music and lyrics was written by Stephen Sondheim and the book was written by James Lapine.  It was first debuted in San Diego at the Old Globe Theater in 1986.1  This play has been brought to us by our Theater Director, Mr.Shawn O'Docharty.  The all star cast is of HS and some MS students and our very own teachers!!! It will be such a performance.

Next week is the week before spring break!  Where the time has flown.  We will be selling tickets to the PTA Ball in front of the Main Office.  Tickets are going fast, so don't delay in purchasing your ticket.

Hope all are coming to see the play either tonight or by tomorrow. We all are looking forward to an excellent show.

Until next week......

From the desk of your team....

Dear Friends

As always, we are quite a busy school each week. This week we completed the SAISA Track and Field Event with hosting 180 kids in our homes and our hearts.  The Event started on Wednesday and completed late on Friday evening. With the kids putting their very best at this sport, there was a wonderful group of parents who were out taking times, moderating each event, and of course selling of popcorn and cold pop.  There were parents who brought in welcome goodie bags and sent the athletes away with goodie bags for ththeirrney home.  Thank you to all the community for taking time to support the all that happened.  We, as a community, have pulled off -- nothing short of a miracle.  Congrats to us all.

Next week seems to become an even busier week with tickets going on sale for the PTA Ball which will take place in the Hyatt Regency, on April 12th. The theme is Indian Formal Affair. The dress code is formal -- any formal wear is appropriate, and Indian Formal wear is especially encouraged!  Hurry and get your tickets next week.  Talk to your friends and reserve a table together.  Tickets will only be sold in front of Main Reception.  We look forward to seeing you there.

Speaking of the Ball, we do need help with the Ball.  Please contact the executive committee.  All assistance is appreciated.

The High School play will have opening night on Friday of next week @ 5 p.m. The second show will be on Saturday evening at 7 p.m.  Tickets are on sale now! Purchase your ticket soon.

Until next week....

From the desk of your team....

Thanks to all you who made it to the PTA meeting this week.  We share some highlights from that meeting here:

• Our annual PTA Ball fundraiser is fast approaching on April 12. Tickets will go on sale the week of March 17. The dress is formal--any formal wear is appropriate, and Indian formal wear  is especially encouraged!  If you are willing to help with a specific task for the Ball, please contact the executive committee. We have lots of ideas and encourage your input!

• The PTA task force is hard at work reviewing and revising our bylaws. We will present the proposed changes at the April meeting.

• AISC is hosting 180 visiting student-athletes in the SAISA tournament next week.  They welcome your help serving popcorn! See Tammy Oakes for details.

• We had a presentation from Pinkathon, an NGO functioning in the field of women's health, about their upcoming run in April.  Details of the same will be shared through this blog next week.

We were all given an opportunity to learn a little of the Japanese culture and tradition on Wednesday.  A heartfelt thank you to the Japanese community for such a wonderful experience.

The Parent Curriculum Coffee on Thursday dealt with service learning.  The team comprises a cross section of the community.  The aim is to transform "service" and make it an integral part of the curriculum. Please refer to the Head of School's notes for further details.

Until next week!
