February 19, 2015

Dear parents,

How nice it was today to see all our Middle School Students literally around the campus showing their math and science projects, they have been diligently working on???

The projects have been displayed and tested before the whole AISC community.
Students were available for interview and open to valuable feedback on their presentations, while you witness their engineering attempts.
Follow them on the website: http://stemaisc.weebly.com/

An hour well spent!
We saw some of you at Andrew Hoover’s update this morning.  It was a very efficient review of upcoming activities at School.  We heard about Virtual Learning Drill day (25 March, make sure this is on your calendar, as your kids will learn from home) from Kevin Crouch.  Kim Bane explained plans for teacher learning days next year.  Andrew reviewed the new position of Director of Advancement and told us a bit about the person who will fill that role.  We saw building plans for the courtyard, the new ES science center, BBT, and others.  We heard about teacher recruiting for next year, as well as college application statistics for our seniors this year.  And we learned about some of the plans for the AISC 20th anniversary celebration next year.

Hope you will join us at the next Head of School Town Hall meeting, on the calendar for 19 March.

The PCA Team......

......constantly keeps contact with Country Coordinators and Grade Representatives to be able to share with all parents what is happening around the school.
Country Coordinators in turn will communicate with parents from their own Country,  meantime Grade Representatives communicate, some directly with parents of Middle School and High School Students and some others with Room Parents that immediately are making sure the Elementary School Parents don't miss important events.
If you have any concern, question or you want to share your happy feeling about what is happening around you, make sure you find the right person to talk with.

Have a look to our 2 NoticeBoard displayed in the Main Reception and in the Elementary section and stay tuned with your PCA, we are always at your disposal.

Dear Friends,

That was another busy week at AISC: for sure all of you noticed a lot of new students around school, and if you are wondering what they are doing, join them on Saturday at 6:00pm at the Auditorium and will have the chance to hear them playing amazing music in a beautiful Concert.

Thank you to all volunteer Families who are hosting these talented kids, making all happens.

Lauren Stringer and her daughter Ruby Smith were on Campus this week, having interesting and inspiring workshops with students of all ages and with some parents.

Thank you, Lauren and Ruby, for sharing your experience and for being with your art inspiration of our kids.

The Girl Scout Valentine's Charity Bake Sale will be taking place this Friday, Feb. 13 during MS and HS lunch hour and in the ES area after school.  The lunch sale will be outside the HS Library.  There will be lots of great sweets from many of Chennai's finest hotels and restaurants.  All proceeds will go to a local orphanage. All items will be priced 50 OR 100Rs.   Don't forget to bring your CASH to treat yourself or someone special to some great goodies while helping a worthy cause!  Thanks for your support.
