We made it to the end of Semester One!  On behalf of the PCA, we would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.  We hope you have a peaceful and relaxing Winter Break, whether you are travelling or staying in Chennai.  We look forward to seeing you again in January for more events and activities.

The PCA’s Giving Tree is an online event again this year, and all in our community are welcome to contribute!  In collaboration with several local foundations, wishlists with pre-selected items have been set up, making donating this year an easy and pleasurable experience. For those in our community who prefer to contribute to a worthy monetary fund, the Agua Gifting Smiles Appeal is another option. For a complete list of the organizations with further details, including links to the Amazon Wish Lists, click here.

Please join our community in purchasing some of these much needed items such as books, craft materials, food, blankets and much more. Need a reminder? Look for PCA Giving Tree 2021 display boards (with QR code) at the gate during drop-off and pick-up times in the next two weeks!

Upcoming: Webinar #7, At What Cost? Defending Adolescent Development in Fiercely Competitive Schools, presented by David Gleason, Tuesday, December 7th 2021, 7:30pm IST.

Anxiety, depression and their dangerous manifestations — substance abuse, eating disorders, self-injury and suicide — are increasing student conditions in competitive high schools around the world. Paradoxically, most of these schools promote themselves as being committed to students' holistic development in academics, athletics and the arts, and in their personal, social and emotional growth. So why are so many students struggling?

In this webinar, Dr. Gleason reviews the various ways in which parents and educators alike are actually contributing to how and why it is that students are struggling. Dr. Gleason then offers realistic ways that adults can work together to create healthier and more balanced schools.
