UN Day Planning

If you are interested in helping with Pavilion Planning
of any country, no matter which passport you hold,
please feel free to contact that country coordinator as you please.

We know that you may hold
a different passport than your children,
and you may have a strong tie to your own home country.

The country coordinator
contact list is located in the link to the right under

PCA Volunteers 2016-2017.
Thank you very much for helping UN Day be a success!

Dear AISC Community,

If you are a parent of Indian Origin and would like to be included in a list of people interested or connected to India culturally (this would mean you would still be on the list of the country of your child's passport as well), please contact the India Country Coordinators, Jayashree Srinivasan, Chitra Kumar, and Varna Ramaswamy (pcaindia@aischennai.org).

This list will be used to let you know about events like UN Day pavilion for India (you can support more than one pavilion), ask for your help with India Week Events, Diwali Mela, and other India related cultural or educational endeavors.

This is being done with the vision that we want to make sure that no one who has interest or roots in India is left out.

Please let us know your preference as soon as possible.

Warm Wishes,

Jayashree Srinivasan
Chitra Kumar
Varna Ramaswamy

Lead Nepal

Lead Nepal (UK Registered Charity number 1105710) focuses on providing the survivors of Nepal’s devastating earthquake with one of the universal human needs: a safe home. Our work focused on supporting the village of Tandrang, located just 15 km from the earthquake’s epi centre. Apart from the village schools, which were built of concrete, all the mud and stone houses were damaged or literally flattened, leaving 300 families homeless.

Lead Nepal, which is a small non-profit run by volunteers only, intends to start the construction of the first house in the village during the coming autumn. Please join our effort and help ensure that we are able to begin our quest to provide safe, permanent housing for the villagers of Tandrang.

Please visit our website for more information: http://www.leadnepal.org.uk/

Yoga and Pilates

Yoga

Dear Parents,
We are looking forward to practicing yoga with you.
The ultimate aim of practicing Yoga is to create a balance between the body and the mind and to attain self-enlightenment.

In order to accomplish it, Yoga makes use of different movements, breathing exercises, relaxation technique and meditation.  Yoga is associated with a healthy and lively lifestyle with a balanced approach to life.

Our classes are open with any level of the students and classes are drop in basis, you don't need to register or pay in advance.  We use collected money to support an orphanage to buy their necessary provisions such as rice, cooking oil, etc.

We hope to see you every Tuesday and Thursday  at 8.45 -9.45 in the McE room.

Please bring your own yoga mat and your big smile.😀🙏

Pilates

Dear Parents,
In addition to teach yoga I am also very excited to teach Pilates this year.
Creator of the Pilates, Joseph Pilates,
called his method "Contrology".
Pilates has several principals that you apply to the movements.
It is a great way to connect, control, and center your whole body with precision.

Pilates focuses on
learning to move better so the benefits are felt in everyday life.
Classes are open to any level.

Just like the yoga classes you don't need to pay in advance, (creativity) and the money will go to the same orphanage to support their needs.

I will be teaching every Wed at 8.45-9.45 in the McE room

Please bring your own mat and be ready for new challenges :)
