From the desk of your team....

Dear Friends,

It felt like a high adrenalin week in the school.  The ES students had their sports day events yesterday and today.  Thanks to all the parents who helped out during these two days.

Earlier this week, it was the MS parent coffee with the Principal.  The topic for discussion centered on homework.  We as parents have an important role to play in making our kids responsible--for their work, for their tasks and to the world.  Mr Brian Hirsch had some useful mechanisms that he presented. Please do visit the MS Moodle page.  The younger the kids are, the better and faster they are to adapt.  A few tips are also available for those of us who tend to procrastinate!

We would love your help to plan our big fundraiser, the PTA Ball on Saturday, April 12.  We could use your help with planning the event itself, fundraising with organizations and businesses you know, helping with the silent auction and country baskets, or any specific task that interests you.  Contact us at pta@aisch.org if you would like to volunteer.

Please note that our next PTA meeting is Tuesday, February 4 at 8:45 a.m. in the Black Box Theatre.  We hope to see you there!

From the desk of your team....

Dear Friends,

A very quiet week as far as the roads of Chennai was concerned.  It seems like a quiet week in the school as well. Don't forget we have the Jan Jamboree this weekend.

There are lots of activities happening in the school next week--from MS spirit week to coffee mornings and the ASA registrations.  Do check out the calendar for the details.

If you are good at planning and executing events, we need you for the PTA ball.  Please do contact either us at pta@aisch.org or Sam Datta at somlikadatta@yahoo.com.

Until next week!

From the desk of your team....

Dear Friends,

Happy New Year! Welcome back to all returning families from the break. Welcome to the new families that have come in to AISC. We look forward to making you a part of our community.

This week has been a busy week for all getting back into their "normal routine" from the holidays.  As we being the week next week, look forward to the Jan Jamboree. An event which is planned and executed by our students to raise funds for charities that they feel strongly about.

On Monday, there will be a New Parent Orientation. We welcome 20+ new families into the AISC family this year.  As a PTA Executive Team, we hope that the transition to India will be of ease.  We urge the new families to contact any of us in the PTA should they require any assistance.

To the second week of the second term... and a wonderful 2014 to you all!

Cheer

PTA Executive Team

PTA Task Force

As part of the strategic planning process last year, our Community Action Team suggested that the purpose and structure of the PTA be reviewed, aligned to our Mission and Values, and perhaps revised. Following the New Year’s Holiday, we will be forming a PTA Task Force to assure that our PTA is designed to do the best work possible on behalf of our students – Pre-K-12 – and in partnership with the school’s teachers and leadership. Interested? Look for more information in January.
