Each year the Board of Directors, along with the school leadership, considers many factors when creating and approving the Annual Calendar. These include, among other things, compliance with and sensitivity to local and national holidays, alignment with Board policy, the spacing and timing of holidays, planning for faculty professional development, and planning for 180 school days.

The Board of Directors had its first meeting of 2019-2020 on Saturday, August 10. As part of that meeting, the Board reviewed the 2019-2020 Annual Calendar. Necessary changes to this year’s Annual Calendar were voted upon and approved.

The following local holidays will be observed as no school days this year:
~Monday, September 2, Vinayakar Chaturthi
~Monday, October 7, Ayudha Pooja
~Tuesday, April 14, Tamil New Year

The following days will be school days this year:
~Friday, February 14
~Monday, May 4
~Thursday, June 4

In future years, these local holidays will be taken into account in our annual calendar planning.

Expect further communication from principals regarding any specific calendar/scheduling updates that might result from these changes.
