A Mystery Murdered
The butler, holding a gun, standing over the body of Steve Walters.  The butler, John, assures us that things are not what they seem and that this is not a simple case of “the butler did it.”  John introduces us to the other suspects. But that’s when the play falls apart, for the actors are as jealous, petty, and conceited as the characters they play. Who is the true victim of this murder?

*Both shows will play on both nights with a brief stretch break in between. A virtual playbill will be shared on the evening of the show.

Join historian Pradeep Chakravarthy, as he takes us on a journey through India’s Best Kept Secret: The Tanjore Sarasvati Mahal Library. Mr. Chakravarthy says, “Let me virtually take you through some of the rare library manuscripts in a variety of fields from medicine and food to arts and philosophy. We will also look at the life of Serfoji II, the king after whom it is now named and what a role model he can be for us in these pandemic times.”

Hailing from Tirunelveli, Pradeep Chakravarthy has always been passionate about Tamil Nadu’s history and heritage. A pioneer of the temple walk in Madras, his deeply invested interest in the music, food, and literature of Tamil Nadu makes him an engaging storyteller even when presenting the dreariest of historical topics! Chakravarthy has authored several books and has written over 300 articles for The Hindu, Marg Magazine, Indian Express, and the Times of India. He has lectured in several prestigious venues like the India International Centre (Delhi) and Imperial College London.
