Thank you, from the PCA Executive Team, for a wonderful UN Day!
The Country Booths were amazing!
What a great display of the countries and cultures we have represented at our school.  None of this would have been possible without the help of our Country Coordinators, their fellow country members, and the school staff!

BIG BAD BLUE
Come support our SAISA Swimmers on Friday evening and Saturday during the day!
We will be hosting swimmers from Bangalore and a few local teams.

Spotlight on a Principal or an Assistant Principal
Can you guess who?

My first job was working at a radio station - updating the 'snow phone' line, making birthday announcements and arranging interview lines with sport celebs for the sports hour!

Who is this???
Check out the PCA Notice Boards to find out on Monday.
We have a new board located near the ES entrance and the other is near the main entrance!

Diwali Mela is scheduled for November 5, 2016 from 5-8pm. We are planning on a maximum of one-hour for all performances including time for professional dancer and/or special guests. We will have 10-12 openings for performances with each slot limited to 3 minutes maximum.  We will give priority to AISC students, AISC Parents, then AISC faculty/staff.

Anyone who would like to apply can fill out the form below:

In response to the Parent Survey we conducted, here is our first Book Club!!

We have selected
Evicted: Poverty and Profit in the American City
by Matthew Desmond
as our choice for our first book club!
October 18, 2016
1:30 p.m.
We will meet on the AISC Campus
 Location to be determined

In this brilliant, heartbreaking book, Matthew Desmond takes us into the poorest neighborhoods of Milwaukee, Wisconsin to tell the story of eight families on the edge. Based on years of embedded fieldwork and painstakingly gathered data, this masterful book transforms our understanding of extreme poverty and economic exploitation while providing fresh ideas for solving a devastating, uniquely American problem. Its unforgettable scenes of hope and loss remind us of the centrality of home, without which nothing else is possible.

We will be joining the Go Big Read program sponsored by the University of Wisconsin - Madison. The book is fairly new and only available in hardcover.

The price through Amazon.in is 1500 rupees. I am also going to check with Starmark at Phoenix Mall to see if they have it or if they can order copies of it. It is available for Kindle, but only on the American or UK site. You can find out more about the book at http://www.evictedbook.com/. Details of the Go Big Read program hosted by the University of Wisconsin - Madison are here: https://gobigread.wisc.edu/

We are looking for ways to coordinate a discussion with a book club back in Madison, WI and to see if we might have the ability join the discussion when the author presents on campus on Nov. 1.

Please sign up to join the discussion!

Lead Nepal
by Gil Daryn

Lead Nepal (UK Registered Charity number 1105710) focuses on providing the survivors of Nepal’s devastating earthquake with one of the universal human needs: a safe home. Our work focused on supporting the village of Tandrang, located just 15 km from the earthquake’s epicentre. Apart from the village schools, which were built of concrete, all the mud and stone houses were damaged or literally flattened, leaving 300 families homeless.
