From the desk of your team....
Dear Parents,
Another month end--the school year is flying by fast!
The Ayyanar clay horses are almost complete. Kids have enjoyed watching them being made and learning the art. Samples from the artists are on display at the ihub. They are available for purchase at a reasonable price. Additionally, the artists take custom orders for any size. Please see them if you are interested.
Kids participated in a track & field meet with local schools at the national stadium. This was a wonderful opportunity not only to participate in athletics but also to interact with local kids. Great job AISC track & field athletes!
The PTA executive committee has been busy planning and preparing for the PTA annual fundraiser ball. It will be on April 12 at the Hyatt Regency. Tickets will go on sale in mid-March. We need volunteers! Please consider donating your time to help with the fundraiser, whether by finding sponsors for the silent auction and AISConnect or by assisting with other Ball activities.
A PTA task force has been formed to review the PTA bylaws and align the PTA's function with the school's strategic plan. Five parents and two facilitators are undertaking this work, and will present proposed changes at the monthly PTA meeting in April.
Finally, please join us for the next monthly PTA meeting on Tuesday, March 4 at 8:45 am in the Black Box Theatre.
Have a wonderful weekend. See you all on Tuesday.

Updates from the Japanese Community
1. We are having a cultural workshop called Shall we ‘Japan’? on March 5, from 9am-11am at MC E&F. Please come and experience some taste of Japanese culture. We are going to have a Japanese calligraphy workshop, tea ceremony and origami making session. All the activities are free, but you need to sign up for the calligraphy in advance at the bulletin board near the main entrance. We look forward to your visit!
2. We’ve organized a group to improve the food of cafeteria. On Monday, we had a cooking class at the main cafeteria kitchen to introduce some popular dishes; Teriyaki chicken and Spanish omelet. It was fun to make dishes together with the kitchen staffs. We hope more people come and introduce their favorite dishes. (Please see the pictures attached.)

SAISA Update
Dear Parents,
In just six weeks from now, AISC will be hosting the biggest SAISA event of the year, the 2014 Track & Field Meet. We are very excited about hosting this event and are looking forward to putting on a great Track & Field Meet. Probably one of the most challenging aspects of putting on an event this size is finding housing for our 180 visiting athletes.
We are counting on your hospitality to help us make this happen. We would like to wrap up the housing of all of our visiting athletes by the end of February so we need to act fast. If we can get you, our parent community to take 2-4 athletes/household we will be able to easily accommodate all of our visiting athletes. In an effort to make housing a little easier for you, AISC will provide transportation for your athletes if you are housing 4 or more athletes.
Please drop by the Athletic Directors office to pick up a housing form and speak with Ms. Sally Victor our Director of Housing if you have any questions or concerns. Our number is +91-44-22549000.
I want to thank you in advance for your support.
Regards,
Ron Thomson
