Last week 20 parents got a different look at Chennai as they toured some of its sights from a tuk tuk. Arranged by SPEEDTrust, 10 lady auto drivers arrived at AISC and whisked the participants off to such venues as the Sri Ramakrishna Maths Temple, the Kapaleeshwarar Temple, and Santhome church. As it is in the middle of Chennai’s festival season, the sightseers were treated to unique experiences, including a pooja at the Sri Ramakrishna Maths and colorful displays of Golu dolls at the Kapaleeshwarar Temple. The day was capped with a visit to the children at the creche at SPEEDTrust and a traditional South Indian Thali lunch.


The PCA parent outings have been very popular this year and there have been waiting lists. Please be sure to check the blog each Friday for new outings. The next outing will be a glassmaking workshop at Chennai’s very own Goli Soda glass studio in Palavakkam. There will be a fee associated with this trip. The event will take place on Tuesday, November 20 from 10:00-1:00 with lunch to follow afterwards.

Tickets will be on sale at AISC starting on Monday, October 29 at the Main Entrance in the mornings and at the ES Entrance in the afternoons. Payment can be made at the cashier's office and then tickets can be picked up at the tables.

We are asking that the performances be 3-5 minutes in length and have an Indian theme. Performances are open to parents and guests, students, faculty, and staff. If you are interested,

A big thank you to everyone that joined us at the PCA Monthly Meeting on Monday, October 8th.

Our Guest speakers for the meeting were Ms. Kalpana Murthy - President and Ms. Vyjayanthi Rajiv - Sr. Manager - Sales. Ms. Kalpana Murthy  presented a Taste of India, which was a 20-minute interactive session sharing insights into India's festivals and communication styles. Everyone enjoyed the presentation and the dance lesson. Thank you Global Adjustments.
