March 11, 2016

From the Desk of your PCA Team ....
One major decision was made this week. We will have the ticket price for the PCA Ball!  As a community, all voted for the price as an A-La-Carte of Rs.3800/ticket. The second item that has been happening today, are two charity bazaars, one for OWC and one form the Korean Community.  We from the PCA Team, wish both organization well for their bazaars so that they may raise funds for their charities today.

Also, this week, we had the returning author John Coy visit the ES school to discuss writing with our ES children. I hope you were able to take part of the parent sessions to learn how he is inspiring our kids.  John Coy and other artists funding is partially donated from the PCA Visiting Artist's fund.  Our PCA Visiting Author's fund is a great way for our school to bring new and interesting programming to our kids.  Our last week RISE event was also contributed to by this fund.  The artists are not the "regular" ones that we would normally, but unique and teaching in an unique manner so that we can encourage our children to learn different techniques to learn in the international landscape.

As we get into March, we are approaching many companies and parents to raise funds for the PCA Ball, which will in the end contribute for the PCA Visiting Artist's Fund.  We hope that when you come to the ball, you will make a generous contribution to the PCA through bidding more and often for the items at the Ball for the Silent Auction.  We look forward to seeing you all! This year the Ball theme is Glitter and Glitz!

Signing off for this week.......

For Your Spring Holiday

"There is no wi-fi in the forest but you will find a better connection." A visit to the Parambikulam Tiger Reserve in Kerala, part of the magnificent Western Ghats, will connect you with Nature and its curious inhabitants. A boat ride through the reservoir offers a chance to watch Elephant herds and other wildlife. Guided treks by tribals, who now work as forest guides, will help understand and appreciate the role played by forest ecosystems and the need to protect them. While spotting Sher Khan's (of Jungle Book fame) Malayali cousin is a matter of luck, which is true of all wildlife sightings, you never know when the two of you may cross paths! It is an experience that you and your family will not forget in a hurry. Kerala and Tamil Nadu have a host of such special interest experiences on offer. Experience the best of both these destinations with The Traveling Gecko. For more details, write to mail@thetravelinggecko.com or call us on +91 9940458435.
