Greetings! I am looking forward to seeing you all at the third English as an Additional Language (EAL) Coffee. This coffee will examine the differences between English Language Development (ELD) & Academic Language Development (ALD). In addition, we will look at how these two approaches complement each other and help all students at AISC. There will be plenty of time for participants to ask questions and seek clarification.
So, please join me in the BBT Thursday, 13 February, 8:45-9:45am, for a closer look at language development. If you can't make the coffee but have a question, feel free to email me, ssarah@aischennai.org, at any time.
Maker Carnival AISC is free to attend, AISC community event, which will be held on Saturday, March 7th from 10:00 - 3:00. Maker Carnival takes the form of a “Show, Tell, and Do” experience where makers will have the opportunity to showcase their craft and participants can enjoy learning new skills. It is a family-friendly event full of invention and creativity as well as a celebration of the maker movement. It’s a place where people can show what they are making and share what they are learning.
For those who have participated in the past, Maker Carnival will look different this year as we invite more students and parents to participate in different ways. From school clubs to middle school students working on STEAM projects to students of all ages trying different activities, the AISC community will be involved in new and exciting ways this year.
Are you an artist, tinkerer, crafter, or maker of any kind? Maker Carnival is all-new this year so if you are a maker who would like to come to share your talent or craft, please sign up to join us at this fun event. We also need volunteers to run pre-planned activities. Or just come with your family and participate in this fun event!
