PCA Social Outing
For our November outing we will be shifting indoors to avoid getting caught in the rain. We will visit Goli Soda Glass Studio in Palavakkam for a glassmaking demonstration and hands-on workshop. Space is limited on this one, so be sure to sign up as soon as possible.

The workshop will take place on Tuesday, November 20 starting at 9:00. We will meet at school at 8:30 and carpool to the studio in Palavakkam (behind the Singapore Shopee). The morning will begin with Radhika Krish, the owner and designer of Goli Soda Glass, giving us a demonstration of different types of glassmaking, including lamp work and glassblowing. After her demonstration, she will lead us through a hands-on workshop of glass bottle cutting. You will go home from the workshop with a one of a kind creation made by you. After the workshop ends, we will gather at Sitcom in Neelankarai for lunch. The cost for the outing is 1500 for the workshop (payable to the cashier) and then the cost of your lunch. We will return to school before 3:00.

Please note you may want to bring your own bottle to work with. Radhika does have a stash of bottles to choose from, but if you have a particular bottle you would like to work with, please bring it along.

Radhika Raguraman Krish was born and raised in Delhi and studied Information Management Systems at George Mason University in the United States. After a career in tech, she chose to go back and get a BFA in glass making and design from the Ohio State University. She and her husband Srini and their four children have called Chennai home for the past four years. She opened Goli Soda Glass Studio to share her passion for creating works of art with the community. If you are interested in attending this social outing, please sign up here.

PCA Giving Tree
Check out the trees on Monday!

The PCA Giving Tree is a chance for the AISC community to participate in giving gifts to local organizations in need.

Elementary School Giving Tree

The Elementary School Giving Tree is focused on supporting the Hope Foundation School. We are asking for new books for the Hope Foundation School to contribute to a library and support literacy. The books can be in English and in Tamil. The ES Giving Tree is located in the Elementary Courtyard. Please stop by and take a tag.

Middle School Giving Tree

The Middle School Giving Tree is focused on supporting the Blue Cross Animal Shelter. The supplies for the Blue Cross allows the animal shelter to continue its important work. The supplies can include dog and cat food, kitten milk, feeding bottles for kittens, leashes, collars, and pet toys. The MS Giving Tree is located in the I-Hub. Please stop by and take a tag.

High School Giving Tree

The High School Giving Tree is focused on supporting the Seva Samajam Children's Home with sports equipment. The sporting equipment gives the children the opportunity to play volleyball, basketball, soccer, cricket, badminton after school. The HS Giving Tree is located in the HS Commons. Please stop by and take a tag.

We are excited to be supporting three different organizations this year.  You are welcome to take a tag from any tree. Drop boxes for gifts are located near the ATMs at both the Main Entrance and the Elementary Entrance. We will be collecting items from Monday, November 15 until Friday, December 7, 2018.

Chennai Community Connection Fair
AISC is welcoming multiple service organizations on campus to share their work and talk about how the AISC community might volunteer and support their vision. The organizations are Environmentalist Foundation of India, Blue Cross of India, SPEED Trust, Writer' Cafe, ANEW, Seva Samajam, Hope Foundation, TREE Foundation and possibly more. Parents are welcome to come, meet and learn about these organizations from 1:15-2:30 on Thursday, November 22 in the FAC Atrium.

Farmer's Market
AISC is piloting a Farmer's Market on campus from 2:30-4:30 on Thursday, November 29 in the Unity Courtyard. Sunny Bee, a local veg company founded by an AISC alumni, connects with local farmers to supply Sunny Bee stores. Sunny Bee will bring produce for the AISC Community to purchase on campus. We are excited to explore this new partnership.
