March 13, 2015

Dear Parents and Friends,

After the last PCA meeting we received some feedback from some of your Grade Representatives and Country Coordinators.  We appreciate these suggestions to help us empower and improve the daily life of our students on campus...because this is one of our main focuses!

1. Mosquito in some ES washrooms: extra measures will be taken to reduce the annoying presence of these little and dangerous insects!

2. The water dispensers on campus: they were on OFF mode and none could provide fresh water, they are now on ON mode again..and the ones hit by the sun will be hopefully soon moved to the shadey corner!

1001 ARABIAN NIGHTS - The HS Play

Tickets selling are still for sale on at the door for today's show at 5:00 and tomorrow's one at 6:00pm!
If you didn't get your tickets yet don't want to miss the fun there is still time!

Some mature themes - most age appropriate for students ages 9+.

After finding his queen unfaithful, king Shahrayar goes mad. He marries a different woman each night, doing away with her before dawn - so he'll never be betrayed again. Finally he marries Scheherazade, the brave girl who vows to save the women of her kingdom.

Every evening she tells stories to beguile the cruel king till dawn arrives, stopping in the middle so he'll want to hear the rest the following night.

Q. Where is the seat of reason?
Q. What is the origin of creation?
Q. What thing lives in prison and dies when it breaths free air?
&
Q. Will Scheherazade's stories save her life?

All these questions— and more— will be answered.

Using Mary Zimmerman's text as a starting point - AISC's students have freely adapted and re-written the play using music, song, and dance to explore the theme of how the magic of storytelling has the power to change our lives.

Sincerely,

Shawn Thomas O'Docharty / Theatre Director

But the fun never ends in AISC: CABARET will be next on stage!

The biggest show of the year is here! Cabaret 2015 will be as big as ever, with dozens of students performing in more genres than ever before. This year's exciting theme is "Spin Cycle". With vocalists, dancers and rock bands covering dozens of countries and styles, a good time is guaranteed for everybody!

Due to the enormous popularity of Cabaret, the continued growth of our school community and the limited number of seats available in the auditorium, students, parents and other audience members are kindly requested to reserve their seats in advance for Rs.50, available for pickup starting Monday, March 16 at main reception and elementary reception. All students in grades 6-12 are warmly invited to reserve tickets, as are all parents of elementary, middle and high school students. While we love audience members of all ages, this show is appropriate for patrons eight years and older with direct parental supervision.

Cabaret 2015: Spin Cycle is Saturday, March 21 at 7:00pm in the AISC Auditorium. See you there!

The Cabaret Design Team
Mr. William, Ms. Lee, Mr. Cary, and Ms. Diane

PCA CITY TRIP - Dakshina Chitra - on March 18, 2015

A Volunteer Opportunity!  Ticket sellers needed:

1.      Cabaret 2015 is here!. This year's exciting theme is "Spin Cycle". With vocalists, dancers and rock bands covering dozens of countries and styles, a good time is guaranteed for everybody!

And we need your help to fill the auditorium.  Would you sign up to help sell tickets?  If you can help 8-9am or 3-4pm any/every day next week, please email PCA@aisch.org with “Cabaret” in the subject line of your email.  Tickets will be sold at both the Main and Elementary entrances, so we need at least four people per day.

2.       Help sell tickets to the PCA ball!  We still need a few people the week of 23 March, and many people the week of April 13.
8-9am or 3-4pm, outside Main Reception, please email PCA@aisch.org with “Ball tickets” in the subject line of your email.  If you’ve been looking for a way to do something with the PCA before the end of the year, this would be a big help.

Many thanks!!
