From the desk of your team....

Dear Friends,

A big thank you to all those who had made it to the PTA meeting this week.  A lot of information was shared mainly on the PTA ball.  The PTA task force has now been formed and will be presenting their updates in the next couple of months.  The Athletics department is looking for help from the parent community to host students during the upcoming SAISA track and field event.  A separate note is attached below for further details.  There are lots of ways in which we can volunteer even if we cannot host students.  Please look out for information in the coming weeks.

We would love your help to plan our big fundraiser, the PTA Ball on Saturday, April 12.  We could use your help with planning the event itself, fundraising with organizations and businesses you know, helping with the silent auction and country baskets, or any specific task that interests you.  Contact us at pta@aisch.org if you would like to volunteer.

Have a wonderful weekend.

The PTA Executive Committee

SAISA Update

Dear Parents,

In just six weeks from now, AISC will be hosting the biggest SAISA event of the year, the 2014 Track & Field Meet. We are very excited about hosting this event and are looking forward to putting on a great Track & Field Meet. Probably one of the most challenging aspects of putting on an event this size is finding housing for our 180 visiting athletes.

We are counting on your hospitality to help us make this happen. We would like to wrap up the housing of all of our visiting athletes by the end of February so we need to act fast. If we can get you, our parent community to take 2-4 athletes/household we will be able to easily accommodate all of our visiting athletes. In an effort to make housing a little easier for you, AISC will provide transportation for your athletes if you are housing 4 or more athletes.

Please drop by the Athletic Directors office to pick up a housing form and speak with Ms. Sally Victor our Director of Housing if you have any questions or concerns. Our number is +91-44-22549000.

I want to thank you in advance for your support.

Regards,
Ron Thomson

Food Made:  Bibimbap (비빔밥) is a signature Korean dish.  The word literally means "mixed rice". Bibimbap is served as a bowl of warm white rice topped with namul (sautéed and seasoned vegetables) and gochujang (chili pepper paste).  A raw or fried egg and sliced meat (usually beef) are common additions. The ingredients are stirred together thoroughly just before eating.   It can be served either cold or hot.

In Korea, Jeonju, Jinju, and Tongyeong are especially famous for their versions of bibimbap.  In 2011, it was listed at number 40 on the World's 50 most delicious foods readers' poll compiled by CNN Travel.
