From the desk of your team....
Dear Friends,
First of all, thank you for making it to the PTA meeting this week in spite of the change in the timings. Elementary school parents were treated to a colorful display of artwork and theater on Tuesday. The little ones dressed up and presented a beautiful assembly on Mahatma Gandhi, Father of this nation. The highlight was a skit done by the kids to show how they can use the great teachings of Gandhi in their day-to-day activities.

Thanks to all those who participated in the Diwali Mela Survey. We will get back to you as early as possible with the outcome.
We are in the last quarter of the year, which usually has a lot of activities globally. In India, October ushers in a spate of festivals. One such festival is Navaratri, literally meaning nine nights. It is a salutation to "the source of Energy" worshiped in the form of Goddess Durga. The first three days and nights are dedicated to thanking the energy created from inner strength (Durga), the next three the energy of spiritual wealth (Lakshmi) which is everlasting, and last three nights and days are dedicated to the energy of wisdom (Saraswati). While different parts of India celebrate it in different ways, the culmination is the same principle— triumph of good over evil. Enjoy the local culture and festivities. Our Pre K-8 library has books on festivals of India as well as an Indian Section. You may want to check out some for light reading.
And of course we have a lot of activities coming up in the school as well—UN Day, Halloween, Diwali, Thanksgiving, and more. Take part in any of these and enjoy, learn and grow.
Have fun!!!!
